いま英語劇のディレクターらしきことをやっているので（といっても英語学校で、なんだけど。いくらでも失敗できるのがこの学校のいいところ）、関連した本を読みたくなって。以前取り組んだ時にマイズナーの名前だけは知っていたけど、本を読み出せなかった。だいたいこのブログを読めば作り方は思い出せるけど、
何か本読みたくて。以前もいろいろ読んだなー、懐かし。
日本語版は仲井真嘉子さんというマイズナーに直接教えを受けた方が訳している。
RepetitionってListen and Talkのことだと思うけど、フィニックス時代に選択クラスでミスターが教えてくれたのはこれだったんだ！ひとことで言うと、Your emotion comes first, the line followsということか。以下印象に残った箇所のメモ。
Bernard Shaw (...) wrote: "Self-betrayal, magnified to suit the optics of the theatre, is the whole art of acting." By "self-betrayal," Shaw meant the pure, unselfconscious revelation of the gifted actor's most inner and most private being to the people in his audience.
Everything should be as in real life.

Stanislavsky now thought that the key to true emotion was to be found in a full understanding of the "given" circumstances" - the human problems - contained in the play itself.
But that blush is the epitome of living truthfully under imaginary circumstances, which is my definition of good acting. That blush came out of her. She was a genius!
The foundation of acting is the reality of doing.
But how many tried? You know, it's all right to be wrong, but it's not all right no to try.
Are you listening to each other? Are you repeating what you hear?
If you're really doing it, then you don't have time to watch yourself doing it. You only have the time and energy to do it.
When you do something you really do it rather than pretend that you're doing it.
And if you're really concentrated on just listening to cars or looking at a person, you don't have to worry about being a character. You have one thing to do and concentrate on. - That is the character.
Now, that change was caused by instinct. (...) The instinct changes the dialogue.
There's no such thing as nothing.
Silence has a myriad of meanings. In the theater silence is an absence of words, but never an absence of meaning.
